Airport drivers

i got an infringement at the airport on saturday, what are the rules regarding airport drivers and paying fines? it appears i'll most likely have to pay it myself.Are Royal mail not covered by a group wide insurance for things like this? Not like we set out to make a mistake.

That's why i've said it time & time again, why would you be a driver when endorcements (points), & fines the onus & responsibility is all yours on your license, while in a company vehicle you should have a RM license, & responsibility should be theirs, if not, don't do it.

i think i will get points on my airport driving license rather my own one. Just the fine if any i will have to pay for a near miss with an aircraft.

What did you do was it hitting a plane while loading or not giving way to one or going through a red light? I remember when I used to work there someone who hit one got a good telling off and I remember also someone getting blown over on the tug and trailer with bags everywhere including on runway. He never got any points but they took hid airport license away and never drove on airport again. Never heard of anyone who got points on license. Are you a permanent airside driver or just a driver who goes to the airport?

you will need to pay the fine yourself, RM wont pay fines for you, your responsible for driving within the law and thus responsible for any fines resulting from driving offences.

the most RM will do is challenge a parking fine.

did not hit anything. Had a near miss with an aircraft that had started to be pushed back as i was passing. I had sat at the point where i checked and double checked if it was safe for me to go. As none of the aircraft had beacons flashing or propellers going i took it it was safe to pass,then this one started to move. I had to manoeuvre to avoid it. Within 30 seconds i had airside ops by my motor. I go to the airport every morning and twice on a saturday.
