I AM SUSPENED BY MY MANAGER! HELP!!

hi, IM working Mail from June, now my manager suspened me bcos I was on unauthorised holiday for 2 day, he know about it 1 month ago, bcos I tried explain to him I booked my plane so Im going anyway, I dont wanna los 400pounds for ticket, The manager will not get me holiday for 2 days, and now Im sitting at home, the office doesnt call for me, no answer, the manager said that I have to wait for call or letter. No letter, no call from 4days,I dont have money now. What should I doing now? do they can regard me like that, like a dog???? any help please,

I would call your manager and ask him what's happening on Monday, if you tried to book a holiday and were refused but took it anyway, your more than likely going to end up in big trouble, also if you only started in June I think a possible out come will be you losing your job, I would also recommend speaking to your office union rep that is if your a member of the union

Well said Clash. We've been here before folks this isn't an English or Grammar Test. We're just trying to help out posties with problems. However it does help everyone to understand if you try and be clear!

It sounds to me from the script that Peter is not from the UK and is trying to explain in English the best way he can. I believe this trip may have been booked prior to joining Royal Mail and the manager has shown no leniency. I may be barking right up the wrong street, but perhaps Peter can confirm one way or another.

he does say though that his manager only knew about the trip a month ago and he started in june so does not seem like he told anyone about it when he started if it was even booked then

Peter, you might have a case if you had mentioned the holiday during your interview or right at the start of your employment... However, the manager could have been more sympathetic or perhaps you could have presented your predicament a bit better (don't know).

Its not too late to join the Union* so that they can help you. At least you can plea ignorance and communication problems...

I hope you are not like a colleague from the Eastern Block that has not joined the Union after about 3 years - because of the cost. Yet, smokes, drinks and womanise like mad and keeps on picking up 'complaints'.

Really sorry that your Manager treated you this way, ive only ever met ONE DECENT Manager, in my years at RM, if I were you I would work somewhere where they actually appreciate their staff and are fair to all...good luck
