What form will IA take
In the likely event that we will get a big yes vote what kind of form will IA take to get the right results? is it best to wait till the busy xmas period? I read somewhere last week that certain sections will be called out one after the other . maybe 48 stoppages?, don`t think it will be a all out strike like the old days, that way support will drop off very quickly

you must call strike within 28 days of ballot result.or hold another one.the present system of one delivery a day makes it easier for us to bring chaos sooner.i think a strike every thursday or friday would bring everything to a halt.we struggle to cope with workload at present so imagine knock-on effect of 2 days work in one day.packets especially would be through roof

The growth and growing importance of parcels to the business will make it far harder for Royal Mail to deal with a strike.
Parcels are labour intensive and require a great deal of storage space in both a mailcentre and a DO.
In strikes gone buy RM just ignored the parcels and concentrated on pushing the mail out until they had cleared their feet,they won't be able to do that now.
On the down side the move to walk sequenced mail will make it easier to push more letters through the system and you may come in after a strike day to find managers have prepped all your sequenced mail.

No, rolling gives scope for strike breakers to work at other places and it keeps the mail moving - it should be everyone out on the same day nothing moves nothing collected - the first week Saturday the next week Monday that way you have a double impact of two days together, week 3 two days together. There was no impact last time because we went back too soon on the strength of promises.........lets just hope the leadership have the bottle to stick with it this time - if not it's yet another waste of time.mandelsons_toenail wrote:Rolling
