I'd like views on the no Management in the office in order to let them know about the Loop that had to be brought back, surely someone in authority should be available. I left a note on my p+l partners frame to let Management know if he seen anyone when he got back.

Why am i getting the formal meeting and my p+l partner on that day isn't? are we both not responsible? he was the one who said well you'll have to take it back! also added to the fact he said to me he'd complete it all.

I knew before I set foot out the office we'd never complete in time - I would have left a loop in if i thought the other fella wouldn't do it all.

Finally, i was speaking to another colleague who said "yeah we brought a loop back on Sat and couldn't get hold of any Gaffers, we just threw it back in the frame" no formal meeting for any of them

I feel very harshly treated, 15 yrs service and to be honest i've never been treated like this before.

I have my meeting tomorrow and i'll take a ticking off however there is talk of a "black mark going on my record" which i'd like to appeal if you can, can i if that happens?

Any formal discipline procedure has the right of appeal.
There are time limits but the Rep will know that.
I would point out that others have done the same and nothing said, you're not being treated fairly if the two incidents are practically the same. I would also point out that you tried to inform your/a manager on return but there were none available/in the building.
Think you may find that one or two lies may have reared up though.
Sounds like they are upset at your actions and have decided that you must suffer. (I had something similar happen to me).

If there is another incident in the future, ask for specific instructions, with a witness (Rep preferably), and have the boss confirm twice what they want you to do. Try and get them to put it in writing (won't happen).

ask why there was no manager in the office for the health and safety reasons they will then have to give you a answer to were they were and then you can say that you could have let them no you were bringing a loop back
