Well i've trying to do some digging around to find out can this be done? i know that HSE says VDU operators (which covers ICCS) require a 10min per hour in front of the screen but i can not find any articles stating the breaks for Manual Handlers. I'm sure they require regular breaks in veiw of RSI and Upper Limb Disorders (back strain). Has anyone got a link/paperwork to hand that myself and the other H&S reps can fight this please.

Five mins out of every hour according to H & S is assingned to bod functions and rest, if you choose to have a fag or a coffee that is up to you, clock the managers, do not forget the time they are standing at the end of the frames whatching you sorting, this is intimidation.smudger54 wrote:SWDC boss's are due to start a policy of the only breaks you will get inddors is YOUR MEAL BREAK They are intending to scrap the 10 minute breaks members have every couple of hours for a quick coffee or smoke

Here in Bournemouth we have a tea trolley which is run by the dum's they do not have to but do and we are greatfull for it. But due to all the IA the erea twat has told them to stop it as it is not right for dum' to serve posties. This tea trolley has been running for years without a break. So as we can see a petty little w a n k e r area manager will cause so many cut off's now. this problem is down to pegasus which is a total load of c r a p
