Please can someone advise me about situations that are happening in our office because asking our rep is pointless :
Taking people of duties they have held for numerous years and when have asked why ? they have been told a pack of lies and to add insult to injury put different people on the duty and also I have witnessed they've covered the duties with O/T if that's not taking the p**s I don't know what is. The regular walk holders of these duties have basically just been used as floats and not been put on other available walks thus we have a situation where you have people with 14 years + experience who have signed for walks BUT been taken off them and been replaced with AG's with 6 months experience who are doing them... CAN THIS BE RIGHT ?? HELP

Re: Releaved of duty
Have you recently had a revision?
Is it due to people with a disability?
More info would help.

Re: Releaved of duty
We are currently nearing the end of a major revision ( which by the way we had no input in, thus the revised duties have unachievable work loads and work times ) and are waiting for a re-sign of duties to happen which as far as I can see won't be in the near future so people who have lost their old duties for no reason will be getting messed about doing this and doing that until this re-signed starts and is completed. The staff that I'm aware of have no disabilities and no performance issues regarding their workload on duties they used to hold it just seems to me they have been hand picked and in a nut shell " screwed " surely this can not be right.hatetheboss wrote:Have you recently had a revision?

Re: Releaved of duty
It might be a case that if the duties are now too long the Regular Duty Holder (with more Experience and Confidence) would point this out and cut off or insist on overtime. New Guys are always under pressure not to Rock the Boat and keep the Manager Sweet. They may well struggle with the new duty but not complain because of this. Whenever the Regular Postie resigns for his old duty (Due to Seniority) and starts complaining about the length of it, The Manager can simply say, "Well the new guy managed it for 6 months without complaint and you're more experienced"!
After a Revision there also has to be Regular Reports made by the Management at the 4,8 & 12 week points. Saying how the Revision has Worked/Not Worked. Perhaps your Manager wants to get through this period using the New Guys, get his pat on the back and then it's too late for you Experienced guys to do anything about your duties.
If your local Rep doesn't seem up to the job I would ask to talk to the Area Rep, you can always get his phone number from Union Notice Boards, and explain your problems. But don't take this laying down as you're going to be stuck with these changes for God knows how long! Good Luck Mate.
