union membership

i have been postie for 9yrs used to be in union but pulled out 2 yrs ago, thinking of joining again can anyone tell us if we get any tax relief on payments, i know there is political levy .Feel i should join again with privatisation coming up but money is tight with 2 young kids etc and no ot as our office has cut back and we are now lapsing 2 walks. Also how is ot supposed to be allocated as in our office it seems to go to about 3 people and when i asked was told that pt get priority as they need to get there hours up, i do understand that but there are guys on 31.5 hrs doing about 45-50 per week and i have been on basic 39hrs for 3 months now!

Don't want to sound funny, but if you'd stayed in the union, you could have brought up these issues 2 years ago with your rep and maybe got a satisfactory resolution. But eh, you make your bed, you lie in it. Tax relief on your membership: comes out of net, so probably not

DON"T WANT TO SOUND FUNNY!! well news for you, you do, thanks for such a positive reply i guess i better go for a lie down! as for my rep i left because we did not have one for 2 yrs! which is partly why i left and the new one retires in 6 months and i am afraid is not interested .
