Hi,
I would like some advice if anyone could please help. A friend of mine is currently off on the sick which he has been told will trigger a stage 3 by our Dom. He's also told him that he has come in for his stage 3 meeting even though he's still on the sick (signed off by doctor with stress)
Our rep is on leave.
Can our Dom do this? He said that it is part of the new attendance procedure or something. Is it?
I hope someone can help.

if it is a "stage" of the attendance procedure, then the employee can ask to have it postponed until such time is suitable for the employee to get cwu representation.
if it is a "progress" interview [to discuss the on going illness and potential best way forward for the employee to get better and back to work]
then this should be attended ...or done over the phone ...or in the employees home ?
either way, the employee should not refuse this type of discussion, and i suppose should not "refuse" to attend the "stage" interview, but seek to postpone it until a date suitable to all parties is agreed.
