Area rep problems

Hi

Had some issues with work problems, asked for some advice from division rep, then got a snotty email from area rep, asked for an apology on email never got a reply. Over two months later, wasn't happy spoke to my rep, was told to email area rep again for apology. Got another snotty email back saying I won't be getting an apology. Feel so angry and want to complain about the way I've been treated by this numpty who doesn't even know me. He is supposed to be meeting me next week, I just want to rip the guys head off but obviously can't. What can I do?

I think you will have to get use to it , the rep at our office (area rep as well ) does 1 day on delivery the rest of the time hes on paid release doing (jack s**t ) he doesn't tell us anything and we had some issues over the dom crossing o/t off and not paying it , told him never did anything about it , its as thought he doesn't want to get on the wrong side of the dom ,. f**k you jack im alright.

I'm a headstrong guy, I will never accept being treated this way. I will go as high as I can go if he doesn't apologise. I have his emails and mine and there's nothing in them from me that suggests I've done anything wrong. But his are rude and hurtful. Maybe ill give Bob Gibson an email about him (just a thought).

Ring wages and cancel your subs and when they find out the union will come and see you to rejoin. That way your see someone in person..

I don't think that justifies a "snotty" email Clash.
Of course without knowing the wording of the email it's difficult to know whether it was just curt,forthright,cold,sterile,whether it was at all abusive or simply laid out the facts on the structure of the union although to be honest it should really have been the divisional rep that did that since the OP had not initiated or indeed asked for any contact with the Area Rep.

Although there is a structure in place that should be followed in the majority of cases, members are entitled to contact the Divisional Rep directly if they feel they need to without fear of a "snotty*" email from the Area Rep just because his/her nose has been put out of joint.

And without seeing the content, we only have his word it was snotty.

It is if you own the club,which the members do.
I don't think it's smart for any rep to start thinking they are the captain,manager or chairman.
More like outspoken but experienced,talentless but willing,journeyman teammate handing out advice.

But we collectively own it, not individually.
But it isn't a worker's cooperative, there is a hierarchical structure to the CWU.
You can only ignore that if you have the talent of Messi.

Obviously lfcgod sees himself as the multi-talented number 10.
The Area rep (Mancini) sees him as a sort of Balotelli.

That is the jist of it that the area rep thinks his nose is put out of joint is not a way to mistreat members when all they have done is ask for advice. I am entitled to air my views as my branch sec said I pay my fees I can air my views, end of. This guy doesn't pay my wages so why should I put up with it. He wouldn't like it so to treat others that way is disgrace. He should know better since he is area rep.

Your right I don't have a clue because we only have one side (your side) of the story.

If I was to give you one piece of advice as a (sub) rep - it would be don't open your gob until you have heard both sides of the story.
And if you do become a union representative in any shape or form, that "PLUM" will be one of the people you need help from.
And just because you pay your subs, it doesn't give you the right to be offensive.

He's the one whose rude to me I simply am referring to him as a name because he has mistreated me. Sounds like you can't take any criticism either. If I do become sub rep I certainly won't be putting up with those sort of comments from him or anyone else especially when I'm not in the wrong. Yeah both sides of the story is fine if your prepared to actually listen to all points raised not just brush them aside or be ignorant coz you don't feel like dealing with them. And also as an area rep you don't be all pally with the Dom and go into his office and have a cup of tea and a laugh.
