Sick Absence Interview

Hi
In our sector we are called in after 3 days of sick absence for an interview.
Does anybody know when Royal Mail can call you in for first sick absence interview and how much notice must be given?

Don't go,tell him you're too ill to attend. The fuckwad is only trying to get you back to work before you feel ready.


" Employees have a responsibility to notify their managers as soon as possible before
the beginning of their shift or usual work start time in accordance with the local
arrangements for their office or work location. The employee should advise the
manager of the reason for their absence, the likely duration and anticipated return date.
Where the employee’s absence is going to be longer than a few days then the manager and employee should agree how they will maintain contact during the period of
absence. This would include the level of contact, how often and the method by which
contact will take place, for example this could be by email or telephone conversation.
Where the absence is not likely to last more than a few days further contact should not
normally be necessary. Where the absence is longer term it is recommended that
contact should be made on at least a weekly basis and the manager/employee agree a
contact plan that should be maintained throughout the period of absence. If the
employee does not make contact with the manager then the manager will make
reasonable efforts to try to contact the employee."

No mention of a DSM in there, but I suppose he CAN ask you to to come in, just like you can tell him to go f**k himself. Neither of you are obliged to acquiesce to the others invitation.

That's true he can't make you and for interviews tht you can attend he does have to give you notice so he's lying

When or if you do go to a meeting with the top bell-end take your rep. Don't be steamrollered into a meeting that you don't have adequate representation for. And remember these f***ers lie for a living so dont believe everything they say about what they are allowed to do.

In our sector we are called in after 3 days of sick absence for an interview. The Sector manager says he can do this and says he doesn't have to give 48 hrs notice .
Does anybody know when Royal Mail can call you in for first sick absence interview and how much notice must be given?

I would be very surprised if a DSM had the time to personally oversee the absence of every worker in his area.
