Does anybody know , if you go in to work and you are
Ill and go home sick , does it count as a sick day and start the
trigger ?

Grey area we used to say as long as you had done 2 hours it doesn't count. The truth is that if you have had repeated part days the DOM is entitled to tell you that part days will count towards the procedure. You must have had that in writing before the latest absence for it to count. In the RTW discussion ask the DOM if this absence will count and to explain the rationale behind them making that decision. Get it in writing ready for your stage interview.

under the terms of the "new" attendance procedure, part day absences should not count...unless it becomes a habit.

so, if you have gone years and not had any part day absences, then all of a sudden you are taking them, then you will be spoken to about it and they will be used against you

It doesn't count but only if you return to work the next day in my office, not too sure on how long you have to work before going home but I was told they changed the rule that it doesn't count if you return the next day but if you stay off sick then thy count it
