48 hours notice
Just wondering if someone could help with abit of advice ,someone I know has triggered a stage one warning manager came up to this person and told them about this and said they had meeting about this the next day no paperwork was given or anythink in writing, I told them they should of had this in writing giving 48 hours notice of the meeting with all there absences highlighted and showing what triggered the warning am I right ? Also when they said this to the manager he got very angry said he gave a verbal invite which was enough and when asked for a copy of said absences he threw the copys of the absences at them and said do what you like and stormed out of the room , also this person knows they have not had back to works for at least two of the periods of sickness so how do they know if what they have been given is correct what should they do any advice please

Re: 48 hours notice
The sick absence record should be provided prior to the meeting so the rep can discuss with his member the reasons for the absences.
If insufficient time has been given for this then the meeting should be put back until such time as the rep and member have met.
It might be the absences are all very straightforward and the stage will probably be issued.
There might be underlying health issues which may be covered by the Equality Act or may have been as a result of an AOD.
They like issuing stages. They don't like mitigating cirumstances.
I wouldn't get overexcited by the RTW interviews.
They are/were informal and went something like - You OK now? Yep.

The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Run, rabbit run. Dig that hole, forget the sun.
And when at last the work is done. Don't sit down, it's time to dig another one

Don't go, is this person in the Union? prob NOT, as their Rep would have informed them accordingly, 48hrs is manditory and so is access to documentation
