Most people I've spoken to know nothing about the strike, bit like last time  Do you think the media arn't covering it as they think it might be called off again? There has got to be something on the national news tonight.
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets

Most customers don't know about later deliveries either next week. They are oblivious until it happens. As is always the case. The public only get out of their comfy chairs when the shite has hit the fan, not when it's hitting. The modern world; all email and apathy! :D

I presume RM are going to send out flyers to custumers to explain they getting mail later in day, and why? Like they sent out those size guides when changing prices? I doubt it  So therefore i have to explain to custumer why getting mail late

Yes the RMT certainly have good P.R. but they are really do have a strong hold they are solid very tactical ie strike during cup finals etc and if the Underground Dont work the biggest money making millionare making plot of land in the world THE CITY OF LONDON gets F***ed. All we do is stop everest double glazzing sending s**t out to people who dont want it. Delay giros for workshy scum and postpone some granny getting yet annother begging letter form Sister Mary of the bleeding hearts. Dont forget we have todate only had one dayers so have not had any real effect. This one is for real this time it is serious. This time it will hurt. This time we have to win. Oh and our major shareholder the government also happends to have several media outlets. Leighton has very good contacts with the other major outlets ie SKY. Oh and we really cant aford to strike as we are paid crap money and tube workers are paid a fortune and can be more flexable with strike action. Oh and yes they have BOB CROWE and we have BILLY HAYES. ENOUGH SAID?

I've just emailed a couple of media outlets telling them to do their job properly, get off their arses and report something newsworthy.

I signed off with saying "if no post for 6 days isn't newsworthy, then ii don't know what is?" ;)

i think he meant leader of the union.
Likewise,i have spoken to people right across the board today, from firms of solicitors, retired pensioners, housewives, etc
and not one knew there was a strike looming.
it's a no win situation for the union, they could spend thousands of pounds on advertising, but unfortunately the general
public are not that interested in a postmans terms and conditions, and will not be the ones that can influence a decision.
it should be Royal mails duty to inform the public, but once again it just shows there contempt.

That's no reason not to tell them about it. The Public deserve to know why they are being inconvenienced, and quite frankly, I'd prefer not to be seen as a Luddite wanting as much money as possible. Which is exactly how the Press are portraying us!
