If my DO is taking on new staff does that mean my three month renewable contract is safe? Or can they, without reason, just dispose of me and start a noob on a three month contract??? i.e. replace me

It doesn't mean your safe, no. You have a 3 month contract, and RM can just not renew it if they so choose. (This is part of the reason staff who have these contracts are reluctant to cut off, because it may cause them to lose their job. Basically being intimidated into working over for free). Having said that, as long as you are reliable, punctual, and don't take sick leave every 5 minutes, and are good at your job, it is unlikely your contract will be terminated. There are thousands, up and down the country, in the same boat as you, on 3/6 month contracts, that get renewed regularly. I know a few who have done 2/3 years.
