Sick Note Ran Out Still Unfit For Work, Help?

Post by Fox87 »

Hello,

I currently am suffering from sciatica and undergoing quite intense physiotherapy. I have been off work now for just under six weeks, my physiotherapist has recommended to my doctor in writing (last week) that i am still unfit for work for at least another month, while i continue my treatment. My sick note however, runs out today and i am unable to get an appointment with my GP until Friday afternoon. Any advice please?

When you see your gp on friday explain that you still feel unfit for work as well as your physio and if he/she is in agreement they will write out a backdated sick note.

If work contacts you explain you can't see doc untill friday so untill then they can't have a new sick note from you, shouldn't be a problem.

if youve seen the gp tell the receptionist you need another sick note they should be ok no need to see gp again
