Working your Annual Leave

Have seen a few posts about this before but cant find them at the moment. We are massively short staffed, high sick leave etc etc so i know that a few are working some days next week when meant to be on A/L. Is it correct that they get their A/L back for the days they work as im sure they will be putting it down as docket so actually getting paid twice for doing the same job that we get paid once for. Is it simply that if you work your A/L you get that back at a later date and you dont get any extra money for it.

You cannot work your annual leave - meaning you cannot get paid for it.
You can choose to cancel your leave in order to take it at another time.
Given that we are so close to the end of the year it seems unlikely they will be able to take it this year.
If people are working ovetime during their annual leave, e-mail Moya and ask if it is all right to do so, and when the bit in the Way Forward Agreement was superceded.

Both.
But since neither party are going to complain about it it's not really relevant.
A decent rep would make some noise about it,a decent office would put a stop to it,a decent union member wouldn't be doing it in the first place.
You can't pick and choose which agreements you are going to follow and which you're going to ignore because it suits your back pocket.

what i mean is are their any repercussions for management if caught doing this and will the posties get in trouble as a result, ive seen this go on and was just wondering since they are basically getting payed double.

They are not really being paid double.
Holiday entitlement allows you to sit on your backside for a week and take home a weeks pay.
These not very smart people are having to go to work for that extra money,are subject to Royal Mail's famous lower than standard rate for overtime after 10 hours and are paying more tax so are effectively working their annual leave for something approaching minimum wage rate.

Not a very bright bunch.
