Work time learning rules?

Are there any rules etc about work time learning? Is it suficient for DOM to send you a list of points to remember now and again without speaking to you? Or should it be a meeting with chance to discuss? Or is it DOMs choice if how or when he does it?

Never heard of or been to a 'work time learning' over the last five years so I would assume there are no rules for them or none that are adhered to.

To be honest I would prefer that - no issues over what was said etc.

I believe they should post on a notice board what was discussed at each meeting to allow those who were not able to attend to read it, perhaps they have gone one stage further at your office.

If we ask any thought provoking questions at team talk ,then what happens is we gt harassed ,timed etc. afterwards. Everyone's too scared to say anything at ours .

why do you bother to go to these meetings if you cannot question your manager don,t go .how many managers in your office to members of staff just say to them no more meetings until you see your area manager.

It's a 2 way street,you're allowed to have your say and ask questions,that's what it's there for,if they refuse then you should refuse to go to them...

Each Delivery Employee must have a weekly 30-minute WTL session as a national standard. This must be included when planning duties. The majority of Delivery Offices currently hold their WTL sessions on days when traffic volumes are traditionally lighter. In most cases this is currently Tuesday. However, in larger offices, the number of sessions needed to be held in order to fulfil the weekly requirement of one 30-minute session per employee results in sessions needing to be held on the other days of the week

delivery light Tuesdays no mail ? 29 large parcels , 12 specials , 4 packet bags btw our 2 duties , 2.00pm finish , I think they seem to forget about the pkts etc .no wtl and was passed a a4 piece of paper which was a waste of time.

Your manager is being paid through his/her budget for WTLL sessions.
In an office with 80 employees that's 40hrs....or another full-time job.
Your rep,if you have one should be making sure you have your WTLL.
We know it's mostly dull propaganda but it beats working for a living.
We just use ours to have a brew and ask questions we know the line managers can't answer,it passes the time.

Well this is exactly what happens to me. On very odd occasions I will have a list on a piece of paper left in my pouch box - with a note saying read this and sign it. No one ever speaks to me about the content of the list. If manager is being paid through his budget that's even more disgusting than I thought!

WTL came about not because the union and managers wanted it but because it is one of are license conditions. I have attached the agreement concerning WTL, but remember that all staff must have WTL planned within there duty structure, so saturday staff, staff on tuesday restday need to be considered. Something the planners don't like to do.
