Leave and days off

Ok we are just starting 9 day fortnight, whole office as opposed to a select few.

We are working 5+4s

Tuesday week 1 off
Fri sat week 2
Mon week 3
Wed thu week 4

Anyway on my two weeks of leave I've booked (10 days)

I'm actually only in work for 8 days with my days off.

What happens to my leave ?

Do I use 10 days or 8

It gets carved up into hours and however many hours you're in those weeks....that's what you use.

If you are only off 8 days then u only book 8 days.if they are insisting that its10 then you are being had off.get your rep to r to sort it.if u don't have a rep get your area rep to sort it.

Not true.
If you work a 9 day fortnight or a 4 day week you work longer days in order to have more days off so 1 day does not equate to 1 day on a bog standard 5 day week.

You only book 8 days if your annual leave has already been adjusted down to compensate which is how it used to be done in the old days when a 4 day week with 6 weeks leave would only get 24 days to book not 30 and a 9 day fortnight reduced to 27 days.
PSP was supposed to take care of that by allocating leave in hours not days.

I've just worked out that the 20 days they have taken from me ( holiday print off sheet is from man power planning)

I'm only actually working 17 of them iirc,

So I've lost 156 hours (4x39h =20 days) of my leave, when my actual work hours would be around 146 hours.

Spoke to my holiday wages guy and he said keep your eye on it as rm are ripping us all off.

Surely I can present this to my Dom, it's not Otis it, and I suspect 150 other posties in my office are being screwed too!

If he is doing this to everyone then he is raiding over 1000 hours of people's annual leave by booking it in days still of complete weeks

Make sure that the DOM has set you up against the correct work schedule. The calculation of hours for A/L in PSP is all based on work schedules so if the work schedules wrong the A/L hours will be wrong as well.

The work schedule is just a list of how many hours you should work each day and, if you're on a rotation with different days off or long and short attendances, it should show one full turn of the rotation over however many weeks that takes.
