Can somebody clarify the postion of carrying days over. In our office theres guys with 3,4,5,6,7 weeks and with no sign of being able to take them before the end of march. This has been an ongoing problem for a couple of years now but guys have had enough. Can royal mail make you carry them over, can they buy them back, what if you just want to take them? Thanks for any help

You shouldn't really carry more than 5 days over (it says so in The Way Forward)
No they can't just pay you for them.
Holiday requests should for part of the weekly resourcing meeting.
If the answer is continually -no- then use the grievance procedure.
If the office is FUBAR then you need to get your Area Rep in and an agreement needs to be put in place to reduce the amount of outstanding leave.

The office no longer has a rep and any info we get is limited and pro royal mail when asking manager about anything.

Make sure you get written replies.
And elect a new rep.

Scotland No2 must be the only area that have people who could take off half a year of working. In our office we have people that have over 30 days holiday still too take.
