Talks are taking place today and all over the weekend. 2 union Officials (one is Dave Ward) and 2 RM managers (one is Tony McCarthy)

The negotiations are being facilitated by Brendan Barber - General Secretary of the TUC.

Reps will get a full update at the national briefing on Monday

Good luck from me for the negotiations that will continue on behalf of ALL Royal Mail staff - no matter if they are a CWU member or not.

I will personally be putting my FAITH in the CWU and the power that they (WE) have. I have not lost my positivity around our Union being able to negotiate a good and fair deal for us all.

My personal opinion is that we should give the CWU time to try to negotiate an end to the long-running and frightening dispute with Royal Mail. Royal Mail have not really listened until now. I think that will change very soon.

I will continue to be behind the CWU 100%.

Heard today,and i know Crozier seems to be acting the c***,but him and big Al seem to be at logger heads about all this.
Al wants it in gradually,Crozier wants it all NOW.
What the hell is going on!!

I had a formal meeting the other day with a (senior-ish) Royal Mail Manager and at the end of it we both had an open, frank and off the record discussion about what has happened so far between Royal Mail and their workforce, represented (obviously) by the CWU.

My personal opinion was that Allan Leighton and Adam Crozier MAY have their own agenda in all of this - the Royal Mail Manager did not disagree. More recently I am thinking MAYBE it is not both of them???

That is where BOTH the confidentiality of RMC and me as a CWU Rep comes into play.

SADLY......i think the talks are just for show,my opinion is RM will let the strike go ahead to see what the percentage of support is,if its in their favour that'll be a green light for them to press ahead with their plans,if its in the unions favour they may have to back down a bit,my guess is they will chance their arm and press ahead whatever.Everybody needs to be strong and united,if anyone goes in after the way RM have behaved to the members at my office for the last few weeks they must need their heads testing!!!!!!

apparently Crozier has ganged up on Leighton with a cabal of Senior Managers .It would not surprise me if Crozier had to jump before he was pushed from the FA , the powers that be ,can only deal with so much fallout ,he's the dangerous hissy , sulky one , the Mars Bar Salesman is just a bluff & bluster bully but even they choose thier victims carefully. There was a troll using the Ward has lost it bit as a smokescreen . Wouldn't be the first time I've seen the rats fighting amongst themselves also there's all the golden handshakes for "personalty clashes " in the past.It's not the first time RM's board have failed to control thier managers i.e. 2003
