OK before I start lets be clear . . .I am walking out for the full time the union ask of me. . . . I am in full support . . . . . however, I've jusr had an e-mail saying we will be out from midday thurs to wednesday morning, that means there will be no overtime on thursday afternoon creating the loss of yet more money for those that need it, it's effectively now 4.5 days out and I can see some people saying that's the final straw and that they can loose no more and will have to scab . . . . . yes we need to make a stance but we also need the full support of our members, if we push too far we're in danger of losing that . . . . . . . WE MUST STAND TOGETHER

It says on or after 1200 so you will be starting your shift before that and can continue it until you finish!billypants wrote:OK before I start lets be clear . . .I am walking out for the full time the union ask of me. . . . Yes well said, ive done 22yrs and been on strike every time ive been called to by our union, but this is so serious the most serious thing ive ever been out for and im that worried about the pension side of it and 40,000 job losses im prepared to go out and stay out until these two numpty's are sacked for incompetence and ruining a once great postal serviceCrackerjackpencil wrote:I'm closing in on 25 years brothers and sisters <ooooh sound like I'm preachifying> seen my fair share of IA and it's never been more important or more relevant than now....We need to support the union now 100% or we will no longer have a say or any rights in how we are treated.

For the first time during these strikes there seems to be people in our office talking about coming in.
Starts with people saying 4 days is perhaps too much and can't afford it. Then people asking others thoughts. They agree it'll be hard to deal with the financial hit... It's all good saying a short term hit for long term gain. But that's a very real short term loss (with potential longer term effects), for only a possible long term gain.
It seems the more people sense others aren't 100% sure about 4 days either, the more they consider coming in. The more people think others might come in, the more they consider it too. A snowball effect of sorts with the thinking perhaps being "why should I make the sacrifice if others aren't?.... if others aren't then what's the point in me losing 4 days?".
I think continuing with the rolling strikes would have been far better. And the communication of the issues in real terms has been pish to be honest!
We shall see....

but if you have a contracted "SA" collection on thursday pm then that is after 1200 and not part of your morning delivery shift so you won't do the collection and therefore lose out on more money. . . . . . that means no working thursday pm, all friday, all saturday, all monday and all tuesday therefore 4.5 days lost.dvbuk55 wrote:It says on or after 1200 so you will be starting your shift before that and can continue it until you finish!billypants wrote:OK before I start lets be clear . . .I am walking out for the full time the union ask of me. . . . TELL YOUR BACKSLIDERS THIS!
PLEASE TELL YOUR 'POSSIBLE' SCABBOS TO ACTUALLY READ THE CWU LETTER ABOUT WHAT C**T FACE AND HIS CHUM WANT FROM US. I MEAN, COME ON!!!!!!
IT AMAZES ME THAT PEOPLE AT MY OFFICE ARE STILL NOT SURE EVEN WHEN WE ARE OUT, THEY NEVER READ THE SODDING LITERATURE! THOUGH THEY ARE PRETTY MUCH 100% BEHIND THE IA.
IF IT TAKES FOREVER - WE GOTTA GET THE VICTORY!
