Holiday leave

Could somebody let me know what the agreed amount of staff is allowed of in any holiday period

No set figure, it depends very much on the size of the Delivery Office and number of staff working therein.

we havent had a leave sheets for 2013 /2014 yet not that im complaining as i feel that we are normally given them to early

Unofficialish but kinda official,and a common sense way would be...
Amount of staff x by 6 weeks (what ever member 'could' be entitled to) divided by 52 weeks but minus the xmas pressure weeks.

So my office is...
35x6=210/50=4.2

We have slots of 4 off all year round except xmas pressure weeks.
As a rule not everyone will have the full 6 weeks allocation,so there will be weeks to play around with.

With summer lapsing,as part of the P&M agreement we,and also you guys could get extra holiday slots added.

Whats the name of that agreement, I need some info on lapsing and extra leave, but can't remember which agreement it was, I thought it was BT2010 but I can't find any thing about lapsing in it. So a quick heads up would be gratfully received.

Lapsing in the summer (and all year round with a different name) is here to stay,get the most out of it to your advantage,in the summer that is.

Cheers, I can only find this though 'Efficient Summer staffing – each unit will utilise the opportunity offered by reduced traffic volumes to re-arrange responsibilities during the summer period. This will offer employees additional opportunities for leave during the same period. '

But I thought I read some agreement that actually mentioned 'absorbing' or 'lapsing' by name. But so much crap from RM perhaps I imagined it :), we've already agreed to lapse some duties in the summer to get extra leave in the summer, but I need something in my agreement with DOM for when they want to lapse more than we've agreed.

Things seem to have changed so much since P&M 1st came in.
I rem that at 1st we had to negotiate how many absences,certain traffic figures ect there was in the office before lapsing/absorbing could be considered.
It never happened at my place cause we've never done it.


The impression around seems to be the screws can do as many as they like.
The only thing is if it does not affect the QOS with cutoffs ect and it can be managed in duty time then we can't argue,work all hrs paid mantra.
But what seems to happen in a lot of places is that if the QOS is affected,reps do not fight it.
