Off work worries.
I am currently off work due to depression. I was signed off for 2 weeks by the doctor and was in hospital last Sunday as i tried to harm myself. I am due to go back to work on Monday and i am increasingly worried that this absence has triggered a stage 3 which could result in dismissal. Who would be best to talk to about this matter? I thought at one stage there was a helpline for such issues? Please help!!

You need to talk to someone who understands the attendance procedure.
This might be your unit rep, it might need to be an area rep.
If you have triggered a stage 3 you will need the support and advice of an area rep.
You will need to explain to them the history of your illness, the root cause (if known) and what medication/counselling you have had.
How much support have you had from your GP?
Have you had an ATOS referral? They should advise you of any support they can offer.
Are you well enough to return to work?
If not - then don't.

I think depression, stress etc is covered under the equality act, so even if you have to go to a stage 3 interview, I have my doubts whether you would be dismissed, but then this is Royal Mail.
