Ok new on here, so I will get straight to the points. What is the rules regarding delivering mailsort on a saturday? My office just started and claim that we should have been doing this for the last couple of years! i having seen anything from the management our the union to say this. I am unaware of any deal done regarding this and can only assume it is part of saturdays now been a 'normal day'. Our current DOM has worked at the office for over a year now, yet said nothing despite coming from a larger unit. The reps have agreed to the delivery of mailsort in their last SI meeting and I just wondered where we stand?
My understanding is that Saturdays are now a 'normal day' in all respects, except that with an urge to get home that bit earlier we don't have the time to stop off for a breakfast anywhere.
The holding back of Mailsort 3 was an option brought in with SDD along with cancelling the late missort run to allow for shorter attendances on a saturday.
It would have formed part of an overall local agreement covering saturday attendances.
Since the introduction of Walk Sequencing there is now a need for a more "normal" attendance pattern on a saturday to allow for a six day balanced workplan.
Mailsort 3 has also declined making it pointless to hold back.
Mailsort 3 will shortly arrive in MCs the day before delivery is due so DOs won't be able to hold any back. Most of what was mailsort has gone over to DSA anyway over the last few years

We don't take mailsort out on saturday either. But it wouldn't make much difference if we did as it only equates to around half a box if that as it's all gone DS now and that has to go out!
