Drivers being forced to cover other districts...

we have two offices where i work covering two different districts/postcodes.....one of the districts is virtually all residential and the drivers in this office are failing to get all the packets delivered almost every day....there are hundreds left in time and time again..anyway...the DOM came into our office shouting at the top of his voice the other day saying that any drivers in our office who finish early will be made to work/cover undelivered packets from this other office....where do our drivers stand on this?
Is the DOM allowed to do this?

Yes he is for a number of reasons.

I take it they are trained drivers - then he is not asking them to do anything they haven't done before. Just that its in a different area.

Agreement BT2010 - Allows for working at other offices.

Agreement PM2007 - Brought in "Working all your paid hours"

As long as they follow all the agreements and do it in a fair way (not picking on certain individuals even if others finish their duty early) then there is nothing to stop them.
