I'm a full-time collection driver but need to go part-time because of child-care issues. My manager has been brilliant trying to sort this out for me but it's looking increasingly likely I'll have to move offices to get a suitable duty (we're a hub under a larger office and it's there I may have to move to). A part-timer at my office has told me he'd love to swap with me and his hours would be ideal for me. Sadly he isn't very high up our seniority list so would never get my duty when it's put up for application which is the current system in place.
Basically all I want to know is there a way we can come to a private agreement for a duty swap? Or will it all fall apart as soon as someone further up the list complains about being passed over for full-time?
