tax problem
just received a letter from the tax office stating i have worked for 2 employers over the last tax year and underpaid tax bear in mind i have exclusively worked for royal mail for the last 7 years. i have contacted the tax office and they informed me that royal mail had discontinued my employment with them then reinstated it immediately, dont know what is going on as no one informed me of this and what are the ramifications coz the tax office is taking it that i have had a complete change of employment and is charging me 125 pound for a non existant second employment from royal mails information to them does this mean i no longer have continuity of employment and what is going on this seems to be a problem that royal mail has caused me and i do not appreciate what has happened

i suggest everyone check your p60 as this not an isolated case in our office p60 states previous employment and this employment and then total for year even though no previous and present employer only royal mail, but other lad has also picked this up on receipt of p60, i only found out today when tax demand arrived for underpayment of tax
