Union rep gets loads of perks

Hello, our union rep is currently on 4 weeks holiday, yes he got 4 weeks in summer holidays,he also has a Monday to Friday job and has a hr facilty time everyday. How can he get this much? And our other rep has just been pensioned off. So anybody with any problems got nobody to talk too. We have a deputy rep but he doesn't start till October and he told me today he tried to contact branch and they just seem to ignore him. Is it me but most of them are in it for themselfs? Yes I know there must be some good reps out there but or many.

It seems to be happening all over the network ,ours has a nice wcm job and now he is even telling us how the mail has dropped and were going out with no mail ,our preps arent upto standards ,the usual ohhhh nearly forgot the duty he does gets lapsed strange NOT !

I get no perks. Monday to friday job. so what seems a bit of jealousy there. I am rep at my office, get no perks carry out duties at times in my own time and get pelters from both members and management. lets get some kind of united front here instead of division, support your rep , and think well,... if he did not get monday-friday who else would. is he not entitled as much as the next person

No haddie you have that all front to back.
The next person is just as entitled to a Mon-Fri as the rep.
How about this for a plan?
The rep refuses a Mon-Fri because he/she is aware that it will cause division in the office and being a union rep...that is his/her main priority not having a saturday lie-in.
Managers love it when reps take the bait.

Good post fishtank, I think a lot of people are unhappy in my office because of all his perks, he signs things off without getting the members point of view. But no sure what we can do if it's not election time??

i get loads of perks like full pay when my members are on strike, two weeks hols in summer, facility time to just fck about and iv just brought a new car that apparently i have filtered away from members subbs.

You pass a vote of no confidence.
Your Branch should give you details of how to do this. If they don't contact Wimbledon and they will tell you how.
Have you spoken to your rep about how you feel? Have you suggested or volunteered for a union committee in the office?
