i have worked as a bag carrier for the last 5yrs and am a leave/reserve i am forever being taken off the duty i am rotaed to do as are most bag carriers within our office .i have been down to do duties and they have asked a fulltimer to work there day off and taken me off the duty i am down to do.the final straw for me this week is being down cover leave this week the 30 hour person i am down to cover on there duty all week has a saturday as there rota day yet i am given a tuesday off.
within our office bag carriers are forever being done out of saturdays off ie sometimes 2/3months without getting a saturday off .always monday and tuesdays off .the office i work at has not yet done the changover

If they don't want to recognise or address the problem then use the individual grievance procedure.

My dear pal you write down the last Saturday you have off and work forward from that six weeks and take your next long weekend off that is the only fair way for you that's how it works in other offices let your Dom know what is the right way to handle this issue or you will take it further

So many offices this happens in,same s**t different office,wank managers,colleagues and reps.

Not so Postman, many office are short staffed and the managers have to juggle around the duties to allow the longer serving members their long weekends and the reps can do nothing about it.

This isn't how it works in other offices.
The annual leave reserves have never had a rotational Saturday off in the same way a walkholder does - but they should get the day that corresponds to the duty they cover.
Sometimes this might mean they get 2 Saturdays off in a row - but that doesn't mean they are ENTITLED to another one in 6 weeks.
As long as they get an average of 1 in 6 (or 1 in 4 or 1 in 3 or 1 in 2 - whatever the office is now on) with some advance warning everyone should be happy.
