Work Time Listening & Learning

Is it compulsory to have WTL, in our office RM sometimes cancel it because of sick absence or high levels of posting ?

It is an agreement between RM and CWU therefore it is compulsory but i've no doubt there are some exemptions...... The thing here is are you still working the extra 30 mins. If your not then I would keep stum myself, as 95% of the time it is utter rubbish. However if you are working i.e delivering etc that 30 mins, then this is wrong. Your manager should not be using WTL to limit his overtime bill or increase his lapsing and I would be onto my rep to get this matter sorted.....

You can demand a WTL if you have things to say, questions to ask, info needed ect,it's a 2 way st.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
