17th September start times

Post by shrimpster »

Hi All,

Our manager seems adamant that he is going to begin the new start times next week. Anyone know how we stand now the talks have stalled?? Can we battle anymore?

Also is anyone else's manager following through with the September 17th new start times?

Thanks for any help.

If your office don't want later starts, then you should all come into work at your current start time.

Remember, Royal Mail can force something on an office, only if that office is compliant. :cool

If everyone turned up bang on there normal time... IE the time now worked to... RM would love it.... But the end of the duty WE ALL CUT OFF Then RM would go balistic and chuck around papers like confeti... CWU Need to have DO's strike for the last hour of every day.... As well as MC's and RDC's and any where else.... DO's need to show the way.... I see the early starters coming just the same.... :d'oh! We alll need to educate ourselves and these Greyhounds and early birds .... 318..... SIMPLE!!

Then you say, alright but I started at my normal time, I'll be finishing at my normal time. This disobedience of unwanted, unasked for, needless
change of your conditions of work, is the only answer, just moaning and groaning about it will get you nowhere, except where they want you. :cool

Surely if they haven't given you formal written notice of a fundemental change to your employment contract, i.e change of duty times, you carry on attending at your contracted times ?? How can you be said to be abandoning your duty if you go home at your contracted time ?????

You're bang on - matey. I cannot understand why HQ - are not stressing this. RM wanted to give prior notice - 4 weeks before & leading up to - the 17th Sep. This was deemed to be 'Excecutive Action'. No 4 weeks notice - then not 'lawful'!

The union will surely be forced to issue instructions to oppose this EA. Failure to fight such a move will be perceived by the membership as a defeat and weaken the entire dispute.
RM know this, it's all part of the plan. CWU know this too,Iguess the question is ,what response will wrongfoot RM most? Nice pr for us tho ,posties strike to protect your deliveries!

My rep had a meeting about this today, think it was gonna go to a stage 2.
He was wondering about how they can just implement it as well, hopefully he would of got some answers today.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Right Carnoustie DONT f***ing GET PERSONAL WITH ME !!!

Right.. Im saying if people come in on there NORMAL time... IE the time we come in now before the change..... Then RM will love it.... But the issue is at the end of the duty... After the finishing time when if doing a full day, RM will still want another hour as the later finishing times.. I understand the front of Keeping the working practise but this is for the CWU HQ to come with something enmass... Guildance... So my point is at the end when cutting off as RM will see it an hour early they will doo people for abandonment of duty or willfull delay... Papers ensue.

So IF everybody done this... Then how would RM paper everyone in your office???? Force there hand... Thats all im saying... FECK EM!!!

If HQ dont come up with a solution to this farce then direct action is needed... If anyone who doesnt agree with me im all ears how to combat RM and the later starts.... As for personal shite.... IF CARNOUSTIE was face to face i would like him to say it then... Not hide behind a fecking screen... CYBER TWAT... Ive never been personal witha postie as its not my way... SLAGGING RM AND SCREWS Is my point... Not in fighting!!
Oh apart from Margie as he was a loon....
