is there a national agreement on d2d and when you should prep them in and should they be put together or put in singular ?

They should be prepped at the end - unless there is dead time.

For one or two contracts they should be put directly into the frame.
For 3 or more contracts they should be collated together before being put into the frame.

• D2D should be the last items prepped to a frame after address mail unless there is available down time such as waiting for missorts or late arrivals.


• The standard procedure for collating and sorting D2D items varies as follows according to number of contracts:

1 or 2 Contracts
• Obtain D2D items for contract and place on bench
• Pick up handful and place one item in slot for each delivery point on that day's schedule
• Tidy away D2D
• Repeat for second contract
• Clear down D2D with ordinary mail from slots containing live mail

3 or more contracts
• Position one pile of D2D on bench for each contract
• Take item from top of each pile and place collated items in slot for each delivery point on that day's schedule
• Tidy away D2D
• Clear down D2D with ordinary mail from slots containing live mail

next week i have 5 d2d contracts so i should prep them after i have prepped all my mail is that correct ?
we have park and loop in my office and can barely get out on time as is so if prep my d2d singler i would leave the office later so would have to cut off

Can someone please advise, Im on a 24 hour contract and am unsure of what is expected of me as regards prepping D2D. The manager says because im on 24 hours this factors in me putting the D2D together. As i understand it i should go in bundle my mail up and go out on delivery, all live mail (does this include D2D) should be in the frame ready for me to bundle up. As opposed to 20 hour contract workers who have their mail already bundled up. For example i have 4 contracts this week and it takes a fair time to put them together. Thanx in advance

Just whatever your DOM tells you have to done, if he want's you to prep all the mail and D2Ds then do it BUT you only have to work your hours, if it takes you 2/3 hours to prep up your delivery then that's just less time for delivery, put it back to your DOM and don't take no for an answer, it's their job to manage not you.

Im the office bitch and am on different jobs every week, my hours of work are 1000 in the morning till 1448 every day inclusive of my meal relief, so looking at the 318s probably wouldnt help much, but i dont want to get done for willfull delay. As far as i know its not my job to throw the mail off

By the time i get in everyone else as gone out, but in all fairness i went in this morning and there had been some put together, (but not put in the fitting, which i dont mind as i can vary where i deliver them each day if its like that). The only problem is there isnt a sixth of them tot ake out, so the end of the week i probaably wont have delivered all of them, will this be classed as willfull delay
