Made to take another duties day off is this fair?

Hi,can anyone tell me if this is right,and fair.My boss has taken me off my round for 3 days this week.My own duties day off is Saturday,the long weekend.My boss has put me on a duty which has tuesday as its day off,and tells me i have to take that day off.He then puts me back on my own duty Saturday(my official day off),and puts me back on the other round Monday next week.So now ive lost my long weekend off.He says we are short staffed,which i agree with,but im livid.I believe hes done this because he has asked people to work their days off,and he knows i wont work my saturday off.

You've been had,your rep should of put a stop to it. Although 'within reason' he can make you do another duty,if it messes around with your day off you can demand your original day off.
How much notice did he give btw.

I thought as much postman,thanks.I had two weeks annual leave,and returned to work Monday,to be told i was on the other round,and my day off was Tuesday,when he told me i was back on my round for Saturday i thought he was taking the mick!My union rep is on his hols at the mo but will speak to him when he gets back. cheers again

no you must get your long weekend when it comes around

I believe under Appendix B they should give 2 weeks notice, but that could be related to when they collapse your round. Check it out.

If he took you off your round to do another round who took your round out?? In which case what was the point!! Have you signed for that duty if you hav and its your duty then why should you come off it?? We have been short staffed for a few months so the vacant duties were put on overtime and covered that way.
