Thanks for the Bonus

Many Thanks to the CWU for arranging a ' Business Transitional LS ' which was recieved today at our delivery office with much ( or at least Some .. ) jubilation.
It has been a difficult few weeks for our small office dealing with new working methods but I for one ( and I admit I am still relativly new to the job ) am Very Happy indeed to recieve a generous bonus for a relativly easy exchange of job ( solo to park and loop delivery ). Many may scoff - not least the older members of staff but out there in the real world a bonus is VERY HARD TO FIND THESE DAYS ..........

It wasn't that hard to find Martyn...it was mostly money we were due from a previous incentive scheme that didn't pay out...
If you were one of these scoffing "older members of staff"...you would probably have known that.

I was rather thinking of 'finding a Bonus ' out there in the private sector ... I used to be a gardener full time and my usual yearly bonus consisted of some runner beans and as many tomatoes as I could eat .........

Try the banking sector...i hear they like a bonus or two.
The lump sums were not a bonus anyway,they were an incentive for change...or a bribe to accept job losses...whichever way your bread's buttered.

ah well ... whatever ...as todays yoof say .... I call a bonus a bonus - it has increased the staffing levels at my office and i haven't had to bend over backwards for my holliday in the sun . My original comment was a simple thank you to the cwu for oganising a bonus for the employees of royal mail.

Are you going to go on with this?? My office is getting f*** all, no revision because they have to put hours back in (due to having a pre agreement revision put in by EA) and you just go on and on about getting money that most of us wont be getting

I think what the members would like you to do is understand that they(probably not you as you are a newbie)...gave up a lot to achieve your little freebie...not CWU HQ...the members.
Perhaps it should be your colleagues you are thanking....xx lots of love.

Sorry, but did I call you an 'asshole'?? You bring up a divisive issue and go on and on about you getting £400 when others won't be, is it something that I'm proud the union negotiated, hell no, because it divides the workforce even further. So yes, you should be saying 'f*** the union' because they let RM screw up more of our terms and conditions...............................................but as long as you're ok then that's great.
