12 Step Process for Absences.

Is there a "12 step process" by Royal Mail on absence?

A DSM is calling everyone in who is 100 days or over,(long term sick) for an interview? He is quoting this process. Anyone ever heard of it......

The DSM usually wants to see you a lot earlier than 100 days............manager usually a couple of days and then the DSM a few days after that, but that's just the crap we've had to put up with over here for years.

i have just resigned after long term sick leave.

it has been awful for the last couple of months.

meeting with DOM every week.

meeting with DSM at another office once a week.

as many ATOS appointments as they could possibly book.

sickness will be quite high due to the longer delivery spans, slower methods, lower morale etc.

the plan is to force you back to work ill or not.

same as before really, just a harder approach from RM

Different DSM's have different interpretations of Royal Mail's sick absence contact strategy.
This may be a local/area thing.
As far as i'm aware the only agreed document is the wonderfully titled AGREEMENT BETWEEN ROYAL MAIL GROUP AND UNITE-CMA AND CWU ON MANAGING EMPLOYEES WITH LONG TERM ILL HEALTH...2009.
