Royal Mail Managers were left facing Industrial action at Greenford following a local agreement being broken following the non-payment of a £400 lump sum and 2 % pay rise back dated four weeks from today. Senior Managers and Unions met in the early part of this week with talks breaking down following Royal Mails’ announcement that the money agreed for changing work practices will not be paid on time.
The new working practices were changed as part of the Business Transformation agreement 2010 which gave change for cash requiring local agreement and deployment with local union officials playing a key role. Four weeks ago Royal Mail received the new working practices, with an agreed cooling off period of four weeks before the money gets awarded to uniform grades for the part in the change.

Once again Industrial relations are soured at Royal Mail Greenford. Easy steps could have been taken to ensure that agreements are deployed with 100% success and on time. However, all attentions were concentrated onto the World Class Mail initiative and neglecting its most valuable asset the workforce of Royal Mail. Royal Mail have to accept that its people that drive the change required for a competitive business not an incentive provided by a consultant that saps our profits and resource for the benefit of an outside US based firm under the World Class Mail initiative.
In the meantime staff are feeling deflated and let down as to the creditability or if there is a realistic prospect of their payment being made. Royal Mail makes no comment.

royal mail is very poor at communication, thus further disputes will continue, but the problem is when other employment alternatives are not as good, royal mail knows people are reluctant to strike, due to people living in a high cost area of the uk, so the cost cutting continues.

Is that Network drivers? As the Network is not due to be deployed until the 8th of August. My understanding is every Voc must go live at the same time to trigger lump sum.

8th of august your joking what about meetings for drivers to discuse the new duties or are we going to rush in to it like we did the p.d.a.dick turpin wore a mask and the 15 pound an hour overtime witch most were clapping there hands over has gone.support greenford were all next and the union are rushing this in with the help of royal mail and by the way eddie stobart has already picked his long haul jobs from thee infamous parogon.we have had know c.p. c. training i wonder why wake up brothers.

our pay rise(backdated) started on the 22nd july and we have just this week been told to expect back pay and lump sum on 12th august.
