I received a phone call from ATOS asking if i would consider IHR due to shin splints and carpel tunnel which is restricting my work as a postman. They are going to work out what deal i would be offered. What should i be looking to receive as a lump sum as i took my 60 pension benefits back in may. Also is any of the monies due to me liable for tax and insurance (lump sum). Also how does this restrict any further work i may be offered that i am capable of doing in the future. There is a chance that i can be offered a small part time job in the next few months but want to be able to know im ok to accept and not have to pay RM any money back.

thanks for the info. if you accept a lump sum with IHR does that mean you are ok to accept a part time job more suited to your capabilities in the future. And is the lump sum taxable (i know any additional payments would be).

I'm sure the lump sum is not taxable up to a certain amount.

You would only pay Tax / NI on your outstanding leave

Cant see why you can't get another job,feck all to do with them!

If you get IHR (lump sum part) they are telling you that you are fit to do other work, just not the job that you are doing at the moment.
