Does anybody know if there is a picket line at a school you deliver to on Thursday can you refuse to cross it and not deliver the post?

I don't know what the official line is. But personally, I was brought up to believe that if there's a Picket Line, we don't cross it. Regardless of who's it is, or what it's for.

While we're on the subject of the Teacher's Strike. Have you seen the News today? :shock:
They're trying to get Parents to help keep the Schools open on Thursday, despite the Strikes. So I sincerely hope that there ARE Picket Lines there. I'll be calling round to my Daughter's School, to give them my support. Then again, I work indoors, so my Shift allows me to be there during School hours. Still, you could at least show them some support as you (hopefully) walk straight past the School, and on to your next delivery point. :hmmmm

Disgusting Tory attempt at further eroding a teacher's position in society. These people study for 4 years on how to teach and control children. However, this government thinks a couple of halfwit parents are going to keep a class of possibly up to 40 kids entertained for 6 hours. Also bear in mind some of these kids will be up to 16 years old. There will be riots, mark my words. Teachers had in 2006 already agreed to pay more into their pensions, and this government won't let the union know how much is in the pension pot, despite many attempts to find out. :dcfo :ncfo :vcfo Support the Teachers and don't cross any picket lines.

I had this problem a few years ago and I was told by my DOM if I didnt want to cross the picket line then I dont have to it was up to me. Needless to say I didnt cross it :-)

Its ultimately your decision, but of course if you are worried about your personal safety then ......................... .

I shall be showing solidarity at the school I deliver to on Thursday if they have a picket line.

As far as I'm concerned, if there's a picket line then I won't be crossing but I'll ask tomorrow if they are striking :hmmmm

I am sure there was plenty of of teachers and council workers receiving their mail when I was delivering whilst you were on strike..F**k em... :nana Its about time Local Auth and Teachers came into the real world.

They would let Jon Venables and Robert Thompson look after the kids if it meant breaking a strike . I recently watched a documentary about the miners strike and can't believe some of the illegal tactics Thatcher and the police used . For nearly a year we had a dictator and a police state . Street parties have already been arranged for when this women dies .
