Stage 2 instead of 3??

I have just come back to work after corrective surgery expecting at some point to be called in for stage3 with DOM . I was issued a stage 2 end July 2010, had a period of sickness about Jan 2011 (less than 4 days) and then surgery was end March 2011 and I returned June 2011. A line manager gave me a letter saying; since July 2010 when you were issued with stage1 (it was actually stage2 and shows on absence report as such) you have not met bla bla and I am considering stage 2???? on screen print it shows surgery/other and then APST2? Now, this is obviously a good thing but I'm wondering when i have meeting on Tues, whether it will be noticed or how this has come about?

I'm wondering if because they are so slap-dash/incompetent with rtw's etc that info has not been entered? For 3 times I have not had a rtw(prior to recent return)and the last period of sickness has been entered wrongly (i.e made up, because I did not have an rtw).

Any advise please ?

Personally, I'd suggest having a word with your Rep, so he/she is aware of the situation, and hope that the Manager doesn't notice the mistake. If it is noticed, and the Manager tries to issue you with a Stage 3. Then hopefully, your Rep will be able to argue that as the letter only said you were to have a Stage 2, then that's what you should get. It's only a technicality, so it might not work. But it's worth a try.

As a manager who deals with stages on a regular basis i would like to point out that the manager concerned , if he notices it , can return the paperwork and ask for it to be re-triggered as a stage 3.I think if he does and decides to dismiss, you wouldnt be able to throw that back at appeal as the manager has correctly re-triggered it and the interview process will be done using the correct papaerwork.If he doesnt notice he will consider a stage 2 warning and once issued will stand .
