Went on the site to register and have a look,when it came to the comment and debate section it said

There are currently no active debates.

We've had thousands of posties out on strike,and they cant debate the future of Royal Mail,still I will get back on and see if I can contact them.

says it all about Labour MPs - theyre seats come first and workers struggles are an extra, just another set of voters rather than the force that makes everything in society and should have the power. We need a new workers party!

Looking at this with the eye of an outsider as I'm not a member of any political party, neither do I trust them, what you really need if you have faith in the electoral system, is not a new workers party, but a party which is able to put aside the sectarianism which has been the curse of the left for generations. There have been attempts at this in the past by people like Ken Coates and initiatives like Socialist Unity, Socialist Alliance, Respect etc. but these come to be dominated by the largest party which is usually the SWP. Labour isn't a socialist party. At best it was only a party which contained a few socialists, so isn't even worth consideration. Any new party must win over the handful of socialists clinging to the wreckage of Labour and also find a way of uniting the various Trot groups while ensuring sectarianism is dealt with. I'm not sure this can be done. There is too much vested interest on the British left.

Agreed, the Socialist Alliance never went anywhere, the SWP just rolled it out for elections and whenever any struggle happened - anti-racist, anti-war, trade unions whatever - they just rolled out whatever other front they had for it, the ANL, Stop the War, Postworker. So no wonder the SA went nowhere.

The branches in the unions that are sick of Labour need to organise a conference to get a movement to build a new working class party started, and make sure its democratic and based on struggle not just elections.

If its going to do the job, it will have to tackle capitalism and overthrow it, given we are all getting not just pay cuts, privatised, BNPs growing etc but also a recession might be coming where we lose our jobs and in a couple of decades we could all be underwater if climate change is not reversed!

Capitalism is a rolling disaster, if a party was democratic, committed to struggle, really got stuck into strikes etc and organised in the working class, the majority of people would see through parliament and its sham democracy and realise the need for revolution.

The leaders are tied to Labour and will do everything they can to block it, its up to the rank and file.

I'm not one for vanguard parties, but I agree that a revolution is the only way forward. In my opinion, the only way a revolution will work is for the majority of the population to see the need for it. Just a bit of speculation on my part and you might disagree, but I see the decline in voting as a positive.

choice is simple my fellow posties. pick tories and u get a referendem on europe, labour u wont. if gordon brown signs the european consitition without a referendem then he has lied to every one us weather you are labour torie liberal or else. that to me is a disgrace and labour should never be voted in again

That this House is extremely concerned by the ongoing threat of strikes by Post Office staff; urges the Government to work closely with the Communications Workers Union and Royal Mail to ensure the dispute is settled as quickly as possible; and asks the Government to review the postal market restrictions on Royal Mail, which force an unfair disadvantage on other companies entering the UK market and prevent Royal Mail from expanding services offered through post offices with the intention of improving their commercial viability.

We have a Labour government commited to seeing the end of Royal Mail as a public business.And a union that covertly goes along with it.I for one will not be voting Labour again,nor Conservative either.

Wrong!

RM will remain with all share 100% owned by the Goverment untill the next General Election at least.

The outcome of the next GE may well alter that as out of the big 3 Labour are the ONLY party committed to 100% publi/goverment ownership.

Our issues with Labour Goverment is how they run the RM Group not their ownership policy.
