I have put in a grievance against two managers in the MC i work in for not following the correct resourcing process when resourcing skilled work for the past 3 or 4 years. My area rep has said that he and the local reps can't represent me because they will more than likely need to be interviewed by the manager dealing with the grievance and i should get a rep from a different function or a branch official to represent me.
The twist is the area rep has benefited from the incorrect resourcing and two out of the three local rep are benefiting for the correct resourcing process.
Is the reason the area rep is giving for not representing me true or does he just not want to represent me?

Also if as you assert they are benefiting from bad practice do you think they are the right choice to support you.

Probably not the best to represent me to be honest, they might not fight as hard as they should do for my case.
As long as he wasn't telling me a load of s**t then i can accept it.
Does the conflict of interest stretch to area rep seeing and discussing my grievance with me because i asked his opinion and showed him my grievance before i put it in.

No because when its official he has to do exactly that anyway - Althouh if I am wronf someone please correct me.
