can some one please put me right about a couple of things,after going on sick leave last october,having been to atos and going for a one on one meetingafter which i felt as if i was on a nervouse break down,i eventually gave my notice in on the 21st of march.i understand that as i have been on long term sick i still have my 6 weeks leave out standing to me (some of which i pay my self.Having read some of the posts about holiday pay while on sick leave i now find out that i should of rung in to let the managers know .Have i really got to be a mind reader now.i do or i did a rural round that i have done for 20 years and honestly didnt know about this.i received my last pay slip from Royal mail this morning and have only been given 3 weeks.After all that has happend in the last year and a half,it just shows that there is NO communiction at all to what i call front liners Postmen and women, in my letter i told them i had 6 weeks owing to me,and when they finally phoned they said they.d make sure i had what was owed to me nothing about it being only 3 weeks.Also surely i would of got paid for the last wek up to 28 march?There is a lot more to this story but im sure you have other things to get on with .

i think your holiday entitlement only goes to when you went off sick, i.e. you can't accur holidays while on the sick. so if you went off sick in oct that's 6mths (apr-oct) 3wks i think that's how it works.

The European Court of Justice (ECJ) has ruled that employees on long-term sick are entitled to take all holiday they have accumulated.

Judges ruled that under the Working Time Regulations, holiday continues to accrue while an employee is off sick, bringing a long running saga over holiday accrual closer to a conclusion.

The ruling in the case of Stringer and others v HM Revenue and Customs means employees can accrue statutory holiday pay while off sick, receive payment in lieu of unused holiday entitlement at the end of the employment and carry over any unused holiday at the end of the year.
