Late starts - August 13th - Whats your view

On the 13th of August RM are supposed to be forcing in later start times. I have been talking to a lot of people about our options if the later start time are forced in. I have handed out over 200 of the notices for people to sign saying they want their DUM or Line Malingerer to negotiate with the CWU.

Has anyone been told where we are going to go with this?

I personally believe that we should ignore the enforced start times and come in as normal, if they want to try and take us down the conduct code, then they will have a lot of work to do, if everyone had to be dealt with. I don't think unofficial IA would work as its then down to who will outlast who and I believe thats exactly what RM want. These current rolling strikes are fantastic and we could do these for months at very little cost to us, but its hurting RM big time, we know it and they know it.

I'm just after peoples Idea's, its only 6 days away and we don't seem to have heard much.

But will they be arsed? They don't want 318's, it ties them up more than it does us. They want flexible workers, and by that I mean people they can bring in for a 6 hours one day and 10 on another. I think the pair of twats we are dealing with have given up the pretense of being even remotely interested in a happy and productive workforce. They tried the "were nice guys, and one of you, honest" routine and everyone saw through that when their bonus figures were published.

I think they will force the changes in and then sit back and see what we do.

We need to be smart. We have nothing to lose by fighting, they have everything to lose by not winning. In my opinion, too many people are relying on the so called Labour government jumping in and stopping them? well great if it happens, but remember who these pair of fu***rs work for

I agree we need to hit them a lot harder, all out for a Saturday and following Monday would keep the pressure on
and the impact on our wages to a minimum but if it comes to it I'm prepared to strike for a whole week, especially
whilst the weathers nice!

Same as sammysammy.We have been told 17 Sept.Could someone tell please.Are RM allowed to bring it in whilst industrial action is ongoing?.Our rep is on his hols this week. so unable to ask him.

Has there been any comment from the CWU about the proposed excu action?
Is there a directive or guidelines for us to follow?

rumour in our office this morning was september not this month.also although i havnt read it myself i did see dom putting up a notice that is supposed to say[i heard from another colleauge that it says we will now no longer lose our shift alowance at all. not even after 3 years.as i believe that was leighton and croziers plan.if its true then the strike must be hitting them if they have conceeded this,any union rep care to comment.however ill read it myself tomorrow and let you know.

There is a brief going out from Royal Mail saying they will be introducing later starts in September and that the ealry shift allowance will have "grandfather" rights as long as you have been in the company for more than 6 months.
Therefore the early shift allowance stays but we would have to accept later starts.
IMO its not about the eariler starts its the principal that i believe we should fight for.
If they think they can bully us into earlier starts and we swallow that then this will be just the start of things to come.
As soon as they implement their changes we walk end of story.
