Travelling expenses

I have for the last few years been sent to another local mail centre at Christmas.
We had to use our own cars as no vans were available.
What can we claim for Travelling Expenses for petrol?

( This is my 4th year, and each Jan have been told:
"The claim forms are missing...the PC has gone down...there's no paper in the printer" etc.)

I'm detrrmined to get some money back this time!

40 pence a mile (28 I think if diesel) there & back, minus the milage from your home to own office.
All done on computer no need for forms now.
And it's a tax free separate payment (upto around 2000 miles I think)

of course you don't have to use your own car, you can always sit at your office and tell your dom you are happy to wait until a van is available. They can't make you use your own car, tell them to pay for a cab if they want you to go that desperately.

There is definitively a traveling Allowance don't let the Lying bastards talk you out of it Thunderthighs!
Just another penny pinching antic by the DIM (it comes out of his bonus!)
As Coxie says what would they have done IF you hadn't decided to use your cars?
