are these stikes rearly working on monday it was very busy in our office so these stikes are only creating more work for our self and getting a days pay less don't make sense to me

It's partly down to the staff to make the strike work it no good blaming the union----we are the union
If you feel it's not working you must have a lot of runners and corner cutters in your office.
There is also a backlog of 80.000.000 items!!! Not working???

thanks for reply because when in delivery office i feel that we are not informed of what is going on with the strike yes we are getting mail from the union but sometimes i get a bit confused with the dates

Working in a SPDO we only get information from the drivers dropping of mail in the morning. It is only when we hear of the huge backlog of mail waiting in the MC that we are aware the impact the strike is having. More info from the union would be helpful to encourage the waiverers (is that a word?).

Actually information spreading was the reason POSTMAN set this board up. So why not take it upon yourself to brief the lads and lasses at your office about what is going on.

I do that and even my union rep did not yet know of the wild cat strikes in Scotland. Sometimes the only person who you can rely on is yo. So spread the word get posties on here and when your chatting to them you can always say "I heard on Royal Mail Chat last night that parts of Scotland are out on wild cats" its better and more informative than what you had for tea last night and what so and so said yesterday.

i agree, i have learnt more on here than i have ever done from any union rep or manager.
we have so many runners and people who come in early it is very hard to get the message through to them.

our office is a mail center and delivery office and trust me the strikes are working! There is mail piling up everywhere! Since last Friday myself and most of the others have only delivered letters-no flats and no packets,it's great! We've had tos ort as normal and then prep to our time then out on the streets,with the backlog we only have time to prep the letters.Also today one of our DOMs (we have 2 for 250 delivery staff) told us while having a fag that his boss had told the managers to keep all the postmen sweet and not antagonise us! Maybe this is a double bluff though or am I just an old cynic? We must keep striking though until any talks are over and we have a deal we can vote on otherwise we'll get stuffed again.

THIS STRIKE IS WORKING!!!! AT OUR OFFICE THIS MORNING ,LAST NIGHTS COLLECTION (ROUGHLY 12 YORKS) WAS LEFT ON THE BAY!! THE REST OF IT WAS IN OUR WTL ROOM!!! ALL WE DELIVERED TODAY WAS MAILSORT+ D.S.A SHITE!!! SOME OF THE METER MAIL WAS DATED 26/7!!! I ONLY HAD ABOUT 10 PKTS, THE MAIN WEIGHT WAS M3 HOLIDAY CATALOGUES. REGARDS DONGASH OPG MACCLESFIELD SK
