put it in writing that you request the "interview" at another more suitable time, as you are not able to get cwu representation at the requested 1st interview. make sure it's in writing and you have a copy.
it is your right to be accompanied by a cwu rep and if one isn't available at that time, it is your right to request the meeting when you WILL have cwu representation with you.
if a person has an "accident" at work, they should inform the DWP that they have had an "accident" at work.
the accident (incident) bit is a bit misleading. [an unplanned event ?]
the DWP and the health and safety executive are really interested in whether the person was
"injured during the course of their employment" or "as a result of carrying out their employers business" or "as a result of doing their job"
it will be the dwp who decide whether it was "an accident at work" or rather - a work related injury.
make sure she informs the dwp of the incident/injury/accident - date, time, doctors/atos info regarding the injury.
she should also contact cwu HQ legal services dept and request an LS3 claim form. cwu will get her legal representation should she wish to claim compensation regarding the injury sustained at work.
