i can beat the lot of you my office has been planning a revision for 17 months i got 1 planner kicked out 4 more have come and gone and the new one is a first timer
finally royal mail have decided there done and going to bring it in so we put in a no vote to the manager and planner
they sent the area union rep to talk us round so we sent him on his way
then they sent the area rep back with back up in the form of the rm area manager he left the same way
next week we move one step higher up the ladder and the divisional union rep and rm divisional manager turning up for meeting with manager ,planner,area union rep,area health and safety rep myself and deputy rep should be some fireworks.postman8

big meeting tomorrow now been told meeting will be taken in front of all staff at work time meeting seems they have decided it will only take half hour to make a decision
manager took me to one side today for friendly chat and said if we continue we will probably come out worse for it.
i thanked him for his thoughts then told him will be going on gate if c.w.u.divisional rep signs off over my head
they will try anything




Well done! Too many times, they have called in the Union bigwigs to help change our minds in favour of R/M. Stick it out!

an office with balls


ok guys had the meeting myself ,deputy rep,area union rep,divisional union rep,office manager and divisional manager .
planner did not come in on meeting and safety rep turned up late and was refused entry to the meeting.
royal mail and union was going to address staff but did not happen meeting ran for 3 and a half hours as we stated case not just against royal mail but it seems the union were trying to shoot us down as well seemed like the 4 of them against myself and deputy at times.
BUT WE GOT A VICTORY

we made are stance and did not break the bosses gave in and postponed revision for a week the fourth time we have had it put back now due in on the 22nd nov we have got the meal breaks returned to original position as they had moved them to make us cave .
the next 3 days im in the office to change and sequence loops the way we want them as there way will have left us knackered
and deputy rep will deal with other health and safety next week.
if they agree to what we want we will give it a go if they dont then its back to the table we go

But really, 22nd Nov??? However you rehash the loops it's gonna be tricky with mail volumes at that time of year innit?

Any give on delivery methods etc? I mean, will there be an assessment to see whether or not it will be even possible to drag trolleys round all the routes?

It's a big victory however you look at it, hard work from you and dep, and pretty good solidarity from the floor too.











thats where deputy rep comes in next week he will pick up on these problems gave it a try for after xmas but not willing but if things dont go well we will try again.
ill be looking to even out walks buy swapping some of the crap loops and will be going for the down hill delivery where possible allso try to get any tough loops at start when we are not shattered




well done mate at last an office not full of ffin sheep

DAY 1 spent the whole day in rest room with my face stuck in maps started off badly as manager told us what we were to do over next 8 days.
myself and deputy did not take kindly to this and explained what we were going to do after that the manager informed us ITS MY OFFICE so we promptly walked out and left him in it.
ive come up with 4 loop changes and some sequence changes on about 9 roads planner is haveing kittens at the work needed to do.
hes talking about going back over the whole of phase 3 again or even clearing off and letting new planner come in that will be number 6 or is it 7 lost count.
tomorrow ill meet planner and lead planner to give them my changes can see more fighting ahead.

Nice work postman8, there's loads of work needs doing to make those loops workable and safe, are there going to be consultations with the posties who know the roads, pavements, traffic, accessibility etc, to ensure the loops are doable?

ill make my changes this week post office willing, will be haveing daily talks with staff to keep them informed of goings on.
deputy/health and safety rep will view them and point out any thing missed then we will display them to staff and wait for comeback if you guys dont want it i wont sign it

day 2 spent hole day with planner and lead planner made a number of loop changes and re sequenced a few roads still work to do but run out of time so back at it tomorrow royal mail seem very helpful with changes (worrying)

day 3 expected to be back at the computer today but was informed lead planner not turning up and planner was off to meeting possibly about are revision with area manager so no work today outstanding work still needed waiting to hear news of secret meeting
