simple question what size / length of time should a loop take
why because some of the guys were asked to look at loops before revision
we were under the impression loops were 20-30 mins both postmen should be close together etc etc
when looking at loops told they could be over 40 mins long
now if you imagine 40 mins mail d2d pckts etc i would say its well over a full 16 kg bag
the men involved also stated to union mgmt et all the loops looked more like 60mins
can anyone enlighten us on this as i think mgmt are just using vans / park and loop as mobile pouch boxes
what weight for golf trolly and what time span for p and loop

It'll depend on the size of the two walks. All walks should be the same but i won't happen.

Answer: On shared deliveries, two routes are broken down into 40-60 minute sections of delivery that can be performed at the same time. These are known as loops or bursts. Normally loops are planned so that both individuals arrive back at the van at the same time and any waiting time is minimised. They can then complete another pair or delivery loops either from the same location or from another parking point. In some cases the driver’s loop is designed to finish back at the vehicle whilst the passenger finishes at the next parking point

i think that the loops are to be no more then 50 min long but in are office there are not many streets that you could not burst in 40 min once the rounds are done right.

Lightweight golf trolley - max load 32 kg and Max, gross weight is 38.6kg with 16kg per pannier.

So,and again i will ask for my own sanity,the loops are to be done from a trolly bar flats 100%

Cause i haven't got a problem with longer walks as long as it's with a trolly and not a bag.

repetative strain injuries to shoulders arms wrist i think pushing and pulling that

I've trialled the thing and it is heavy when full..i tipped the fecker twice.
It's also important that you keep your bundles small because you don't have you're bag to rest the bundle on.
To be honest i don't think that either RM or the union has a clue just how much hard work these things can be.
My arms were killing me after the first day...you might look like this shortly...

100%...no trolley...no longer walks....and only a 5kg bag on the flats.
All the 16kg bags should be removed from use in your D.O. after the delivery methods revision...in case any of the idiots are tempted.

38 kg MAX.
Let's say 40 min loops on a 4 hour del span.
So going on MAX weight that = 12 bags at 16 kg.
Unlikely. Very unlikely.
Anyway bag will be on your back after the B&H to reach performance standards.

3. The golf trolley is proving to be highly unstable when loaded with sufficient mail for the designed loop size. This is caused by loaded mail slipping to one end, this prevents the trolley from being parked while delivering.

Golf trolleys are good for golf. Mail delivery ,take out a bundle,trolley collapses;go up a kerb, trolley collapses;take avoiding action for a slovenly slug,trolley collapses;hurl the trolley over an 8ft wall after the 15th collapse of the day,who knows
