Membership Subscription rates from 1st January 2011


Branches will recall that earlier this year, we moved to a system of subscriptions based on the hours members worked. Additionally we simplified the discounted rates applicable to members employed in certain companies – generally those companies where we had limited recognition, or no recognition agreement at all.


Following discussion at the NEC and given the financial situation of the union, it has been decided, in line with Rule 11.5.1 to raise the subscriptions of all members. With inflation running at over 4% the NEC determined that we should keep our core rates to a 3% increase to recognise the financial pressures members are under.


In addition, the restructering begun last year has been completed by bringing all “legacy” full time and part time rates into line with our new format. The practical effect of this is that those members currently paying the “legacy part time rates”, or “under 18 rates” will in future pay Plan 4 rates, being the closest amount to their existing subscriptions.


From 1st January 2011, CWU subscriptions will therefore be as below.


In order that members are charged the correct subscription It is important that all new members record their weekly working hours in the space provided on the Application Form as well as their employer.

If you increase the subs then i want a FREE diary every year,
lets face it we get bugger all after supporting a union year in year out and lose wages to boot.

It's about time we stood up AGAINST these sub increases because the union caused this mess
during the last major vote.
