we are coming up to that great time again :)
as a reserve i am always on tender hooks as to what will be happening at our DO.
in past years 2 people inclusive 1 reserve have been used on local nights.that leaves 3 more people 'spare'.usually i adopts a van delivery another adopts the person who has come off his round for nights.therefore we have in effect 2/3 people who then get moved around maybe to other offices.this is done in a 'seniority' way.therefore as the least senior full time i would maybe be expected to go elsewhere as well as a part time reserve. or DOM always makes a point that the P/T reserve is more useable due to his lesser hours.what rights do i have when he is in theory less senior?it just seems unfair that there are the other reserves who always get something to do locally i.e. our office and those that always have to accept that they will be moved!!
i would appreciate any constructive comments and advice
reserves are being shafted, casuals are taking over walks close to the office with 10 mins max travelling time.
Every December it seems the policy is to keep reserves on 1 walk, i hope it continues.
I hope xmas eve, which falls on friday is light and no bloody D2d upto xmas

75% correct...you need to have been trained on the job/duty you are put on...you have the right to ask to get training before you get put on a duty you don't know/haven't covered before...even in other offices and if you are on a diff shift that attracts a shift allowance - make sure you get the allowance
